The journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step.....
Yoga for a cause this Saturday at Yoga Moves
I'll be teaching a benefit class this Saturday, March 11th at Yoga Moves, Main Street, Stoneham, MA. I am helping out two lovely ladies who are running the Chicago Marathon for St. Jude's Hospital.
Brittany and Sam are running the Chicago Marathon this coming October. They are not just running for themselves but they are running to help save kids’ lives by fundraising for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital as they both train. Brittany lost her father to cancer four years ago. Growing up, he would drive hours to watch her run a three mile race. She knows what it’s like to lose a parent to cancer but can only imagine the heartbreak parents go through as their watch their children fight for their lives. Together, Brittany and Sam are fundraising for kids who might be too sick to run today, but who could one day be running alongside us because the money we raised helped find a cure for childhood cancer. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food -- because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
